Description
The Ministry of Education and Training is responsible for integrating ESD into teaching and learning, training teachers, developing materials related to ESD, and developing and implementing ESD plans, policies and programmes within the Education Sector at all levels.Strengthen the development and implementation of ESD policies and programmes by enhancing intersectoral coordination mechanisms for ESD.
Enhance the capacity of education authorities and policymakers to develop and implement ESD policies and programmes in Viet Nam.
Develop a comprehensive framework for Environmental Education for Sustainable Development to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, competences and values of sustainable development and global citizenship in teachers and students from early childhood to higher education.
Enhance regional coordination, collaboration, knowledge sharing and awareness on ESD.
MOET has the responsibility, experience and capacity to mobilize teachers, students, authorities and policymakers to reinforce the integration of ESD into education, training and sustainable development policies through a holistic, intersectoral approach. MOET has previous experience implementing ESD programmes at the provincial and national level, with UNESCO support, and is interested in building upon this experience in further joint implementation activities with UNESCO.
